Jelly Beans and In Betweens {Pattern}

Jelly Beans and In Betweens
Approx. 60x60

This quilt is made using 64 charm squares and one jelly roll.
2 charm packs (64 charm squares)
1 jelly roll
3/8 yard inner border
1/2 yard binding
3 3/4 yards backing

Create the center blocks by placing two charm squares right sides together. Draw a line diagonally on the back of one of the squares. Stitch 1/2" on each side of the line. Cut on the line and press open. Border 36 of the half square triangles using strips from the jelly roll. Make sure to use contrasting prints for the outside border print. You will need 2 cuts 2 1/2"x 41/2" and 2 cuts 2 1/2"x 8 1/2" for each half square triangle block. Stitch in rows with 6 across and 6 down.

Create the first border by cutting a neutral fabric into 2 1/2" strips. You will need 5 strips to surround the center section.

Cut 56 4 1/2" strips from the remaining jelly roll pieces. Sew strips together lengthwise in sets of two. Use these strip segments and half square triangle segments, alternating every other one to create final border. You will need two rows with 13 segments. The beginning and ending segments on these strips should be the strip segments. The final two rows will have 15 segments with the half square triangles on each end. Remember to ease the pieced borders to fit into the inner border so you don't trim the pieced blocks.

Binding is cut 2 1/4". Quilt and Enjoy!
