CREME BRULEE FRENCH TOAST
a must have recipe for Christmas morning....



1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2TBSP. corn syrup
1 8-9" loaf French Bread
5 large eggs
1 1/2 cup half and half
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp orange extract
1/4 tsp. salt
In heavy saucepan, melt butter with brown sugar add corn syrup over med. heat. Stir until smooth.
Pour in 9x13 baking pan.
Cut six 1"thick slices of bread. Leave ends and trim crusts.
Arrange bread slices in one layer in baking dish.
In a bowl whisk eggs, half and half, vanilla orange extract and salt.
Pour over bread evenly.
Cover and chill bread for at least 8 hours up to 24 hours.
Before baking set out to room temperature
bake at 350 uncovered until browned and carmelized.
About 35-40 minutes serve hot toast immediately.
